Greenland is a Danish territory in the Arctic, in North America. It is the world's largest island. The capital of Greenland is Nuuk, a town on the southeastern coast with approximately 15,000 people. Greenlandic Inuit and Danish are spoken in Greenland. It was first settled by Inuits thousands of years ago, before being colonized by Vikings in the 10th century AD. It was said to be named "Greenland" in order to attract settlers.
