Oklahoma is a U.S. state. Oklahoma borders New Mexico to the west, Texas to the south, Kansas to the north, and Missouri and Louisiana to the east. Oklahoma is largely flat, and has notable agricultural and petroleum industries, although the latter have declined in recent years. Oklahoma was one of the last areas in the Lower 48 to become a state; for nearly a century it was the Indian Territory. Oklahoma's capital and largest city is the aptly-named Oklahoma City.
