Saskatchewan is a province in central Canada. It is part of the Prairie Provinces, located on the Great Plains (known in Canada as the Prairies). It is sparsely populated, having just over 1 million people. Most people live in the southern half of the province. The terrain is mostly flat, dominated by glacial lakes and prairies. The largest city is Saskatoon, with 250,000 people. Regina, the capital, has a population of about 200,000.
